HUMAN DIVERSITY AT THE MEG OF GENEVA
European Museum of the Year in 2017, the Geneva Museum of Ethnography draws from the 80,000 objects that make up its collections to present an incredible exhibition on human diversity, set by the famous Stuttgart studio Brückner.
More than 1000 pieces carefully selected across the five continents, plunge us into the origins of these archives, very often the fruit of individual adventures, passion or generosity of illustrious philanthropists.
Each section has its masterpieces chronicling the history of religious iconography, writing, the manifestation of power, the sacred, the relationships of Aboriginal societies and the journeys of European explorers.
The MEG is dedicated to the conservation and study of material, cultural and artistic evidence from around the world. Around these everyday objects resonate universal questions such as life, death, commerce, faith or politics, that touch and challenge the visitor.
